Stonespine Architects
Stonespine Architects review
Stonespine Architects is a delightful card drafting game that puts you in the shoes of a minotaur dungeon architect. The game is incredibly easy to learn, but don't let that fool you - there's plenty of strategic depth to keep you on your toes. The core gameplay loop is simple: draft cards to build your dungeon, one chamber at a time. You'll need to consider what cards to play, which to hold onto, and which to discard, all while trying to outmaneuver your opponents.
I especially appreciate the game's focus on theme. It's truly immersive, imagining yourself crafting perilous labyrinths filled with monsters, traps, and hidden treasures. The art style is charming and thematic, and the components are of high quality.
While I've only played the game solo, it's easy to see how it would be fun with multiple players. The rules are consistent across all player counts, and the gameplay is engaging enough to hold your attention for a good 40 minutes or so. I can't recommend this game enough. It's a great addition to any game collection, and it's sure to provide hours of fun for players of all skill levels.
