Dinosaur Island: Rawr 'n Write

Dinosaur Island: Rawr 'n Write is a surprisingly engaging roll-and-write game. I was initially hesitant, as I've never been a huge fan of the genre, but this one really caught my attention. The premise of building your own dinosaur park, managing resources, and controlling the chaos is incredibly fun.

The game itself is surprisingly deep. While it doesn't take long to learn the basics, there's a lot of strategic decision-making involved in drafting dice, building your park, and choosing your dinosaurs. The dice-drafting mechanic adds a layer of player interaction that I really enjoyed. There's a nice sense of tension trying to outsmart your opponents for the best dice.

The components are solid, especially the DNA dice, which are a nice touch. I was initially a bit worried about the paper sheets, but laminating them and using dry-erase markers, as suggested by other reviewers, has worked perfectly. I can definitely see this game getting a lot of play, especially with its quick setup and replayability.

I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys roll-and-writes, especially those who love the Dinosaur Island theme. It's a great filler game that can be enjoyed by both casual and experienced gamers.
