The Isle of Cats: Explore & Draw
The Isle of Cats: Explore & Draw review
I've been a big fan of The Isle of Cats since it came out, so I was excited to try Explore & Draw. The core gameplay is very similar, but with a twist: instead of drafting cards, you choose a set each round and then draw your discoveries onto your boat. This adds a bit of a puzzle element to the game, which I found quite enjoyable.
The biggest draw for me was the simultaneous gameplay. Everyone plays at the same time, which makes for a much more exciting and enjoyable experience. It's also a quick game, perfect for a break or a casual game night.
However, I did encounter a few issues. The game was advertised as being in English, but I received a German version. It was a bit of a hassle to get it replaced, and even then, the replacement was also in German. The game does have a lot of text, so it's not really playable if you don't speak German. Thankfully, there are resources available online that can help you translate the rules and game components, but it would be great if this was clearly stated in the product description.
Overall, I'd recommend The Isle of Cats: Explore & Draw if you're a fan of the original game and enjoy a quick, competitive experience. Just make sure you check the language before you buy!
