Sagrada review

Sagrada is a game that really caught my eye. I'm a sucker for anything with a beautiful aesthetic, and the translucent dice and stained glass theme are just lovely. I was also drawn to the idea of a game with strategic depth but simple rules, which Sagrada definitely delivers.

The gameplay itself is a delightful blend of planning and a bit of luck. You're drafting dice and placing them on your individual board, aiming to create a stunning stained glass window. There are color and number restrictions, which adds a nice layer of challenge. The game is well-balanced, too; some boards are easier to fill than others, but the inclusion of "tools" lets you adjust things a bit, making it more accessible for different skill levels. It's satisfying to see your window come together, and the scoring system adds an extra layer of strategy.

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about the small dice, but they really don't hinder the gameplay that much. Some reviewers mentioned difficulty for older players, but I haven't found that to be a problem in my own group. It's a game that can be enjoyed by players of all ages and skill levels.

Overall, I'd highly recommend Sagrada. It's a beautiful, engaging game with a lot of replayability. It's perfect for a casual game night or a more competitive session, and I'm sure it will be a favorite for years to come.
