Wild Tiled West review

Wild Tiled West Review

Wild Tiled West is a fun and engaging tile-laying game set in the Wild West. The game is easy to learn, with a simple drafting mechanic and straightforward scoring. Players build towns by drafting tiles and placing them on their town board, competing for resources and points. The different town boards, each with beginner and advanced sides, create lots of replayability.

I really enjoyed the variety of scoring opportunities. There are a lot of ways to gain points, so different strategies can be successful. However, the scoring system is a bit "point salad," with so many different ways to score, it can feel a bit overwhelming. The addition of end-game scoring cards could help to streamline the scoring and provide even more strategic depth.

The game's components are high quality and the insert is very well designed. It's also great to have a solo mode included, as that's always a bonus for me. The rule book is a bit vague in places, so I had to refer to the online rule book a few times.

I'm a little tired of the trend of cartoon animals being used in games instead of people, and Wild Tiled West is no exception. But, the artwork is nice, and the overall theme is charming. I found myself enjoying the cartoon critters as I played, and they didn't detract from my enjoyment.

Overall, I'd recommend Wild Tiled West to anyone looking for a fun and engaging tile-laying game with a Western theme. It's a good choice for families and groups of friends, and it's also a good choice for solo players.
