Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Star Wars: The Clone Wars review
I've been a fan of the Pandemic series for a while now, and I was super excited to get my hands on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I've always loved the Clone Wars era of Star Wars, and I knew this game would be a great way to experience it in a new way. I have to say, it's a ton of fun!
The game uses a similar system to Pandemic, but it's got its own unique twist. Instead of fighting a virus, you're battling the Separatist droid army. I love how they took the Pandemic mechanics and translated them into the Star Wars universe. The missions are all themed around specific episodes of the Clone Wars animated series, which is a really nice touch.
I think one of the coolest things about this game is the villain system. You get to choose from four different villains: Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Ahsoka Tano, and General Grievous. Each villain plays differently, and they each have their own set of challenges. I've only played against a couple of them so far, but I'm really looking forward to trying out the others.
The components are great too. The miniatures are really detailed and well-made, and the board is a nice size and really captures the feel of the galaxy. I'm impressed with the overall quality of the game, especially for the price.
There are a couple of things that some people have mentioned in their reviews that I wanted to address. Some people have said the game is a little too easy, but I think the difficulty is just right. The game's difficulty level can definitely be adjusted by adding more missions or increasing the threat level. I think if you're familiar with cooperative games, you'll find that this game is challenging but not overwhelming. I also want to say that while some reviews mention the miniatures are weak, I haven't had any problems with them. They're quite sturdy.
Overall, I highly recommend Star Wars: The Clone Wars to anyone who enjoys cooperative games or is a fan of the Clone Wars era of Star Wars. It's a great game that's fun for all ages and skill levels. I have a feeling I'll be playing this one for a long time to come.
