World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King review

I'm a huge fan of both World of Warcraft and the Pandemic series, so I was excited to check out this game. It's a very solid blend of the two, with familiar mechanics from Pandemic but a distinct WoW theme that really shines. I was a little worried that the game might feel like a simple re-skin, but that wasn't the case at all. The quest system is a great addition, and the inclusion of heroes with unique abilities adds a lot of depth to the gameplay.

The game components are also excellent. The miniatures are very detailed and well-made, even if they're unpainted. I'm tempted to grab some paints and give them a go. The board, cards, and tokens are all high quality and nicely designed. I was a little disappointed that the box doesn't have any dedicated compartments for the pieces, but it's a minor gripe. Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of the game.

However, I did find the game to be a bit easier than the original Pandemic. This is likely due to the smaller board size and the way that the Lich King's forces are managed, but it's something to keep in mind if you're looking for a challenging game. If you're a WoW fan, this is a must-have. If you're a Pandemic fan, it's a fun new twist on the formula. I highly recommend it!
