Mini Rogue
Mini Rogue review
Mini Rogue is a delightful little dungeon crawler that packs a punch despite its compact size. The core gameplay is simple: you navigate a randomly generated dungeon, battling monsters and collecting treasure, all in the pursuit of the legendary Og's Blood ruby. I love the minimalist approach, with just a handful of cards making up the dungeon levels. The artwork is charming and the components are solid. I particularly appreciate the compact size, making it perfect for travel or solo gaming sessions.
While the randomness of the card draws can lead to some frustrating moments, it also adds to the replayability. Each playthrough feels unique and unpredictable. The game is a good fit for solo players, but it also works well with a friend. The rules are easy to learn, making it a great game to introduce to new players.
I was a bit disappointed to learn that the expansions, which sound like they add a lot of depth to the game, are only available through Kickstarter. That said, the base game is still a lot of fun, and I plan on picking up the expansions if I can ever find them. Overall, I highly recommend Mini Rogue to anyone looking for a quick, satisfying, and portable dungeon crawling experience.
