Onirim (Second Edition)
Onirim (Second Edition) review
Onirim (Second Edition) is a delightful solo/cooperative card game that has captured my attention. I've always enjoyed the concept of being a Dreamwalker lost in a mysterious labyrinth, and this game beautifully translates that concept into a tactile experience. The artwork is stunning, and the cards feel great in hand.
One of the things I really appreciate about Onirim is its accessibility. It's incredibly easy to learn, with simple rules and a straightforward goal: gather the eight Door cards before the deck runs out. However, don't let the simplicity fool you - Onirim offers a surprising amount of strategic depth. You'll find yourself carefully considering each card in your hand, weighing the risks and rewards of various moves.
I love that the game comes with seven mini-expansions, adding incredible replayability and variety. The expansions introduce new mechanics and challenges, keeping the gameplay fresh and engaging. It's a fantastic value for the price, offering a ton of content for solo and cooperative play.
The one downside I've encountered is a slight issue with card quality. I've had one or two cards become slightly bent after repeated shuffles. However, this is a minor inconvenience, and I'm sure it can be mitigated with careful handling.
Overall, I highly recommend Onirim (Second Edition) to anyone looking for a fun, engaging, and challenging card game. It's a beautiful game that offers a unique and enjoyable experience, perfect for a solo gaming session or a cooperative adventure with friends. I give it a solid 8/10.
