Exit: The Game – The Enchanted Forest
Exit: The Game – The Enchanted Forest review
Exit: The Game – The Enchanted Forest is a puzzle game that's modeled after escape rooms. I really enjoy escape rooms, so I was excited to try this. I especially liked that it comes with components that are designed to be folded, written on, or torn – it makes the game feel more interactive and immersive. The premise is pretty straightforward: a relaxing walk in the woods takes a very different turn when you suddenly encounter strange fairytale creatures and even stranger puzzles. It's a fun, albeit challenging, experience that really makes you think outside the box.
The game is very well made and the instructions are clear and easy to understand. The components are well-designed and feel high quality. I also liked that the instructions were very clear in guiding players through setting up the game without accidentally revealing any information that would ruin the experience. I was also impressed by the decoder. It's a clever way of guiding you without revealing anything.
The puzzles are definitely challenging, which is part of the appeal. We got stuck on a few of them and had to use a few clues, but it was still satisfying to figure them out in the end. It's worth noting that the game is a single-use experience, meaning that you'll be destroying some of the components as you play. This is a bit of a drawback, but I think it's worth it for the overall experience. I would say that the game is best suited for two players, but it can be played solo or with up to four players. I'm not sure that I would recommend it for younger players, as some of the puzzles can be quite difficult. Overall, I would highly recommend Exit: The Game – The Enchanted Forest to anyone who enjoys escape rooms, puzzles, or simply a good mental challenge.
