Exit: The Game – The House of Riddles
Exit: The Game – The House of Riddles review

I'm a casual gamer who loves board games, but I tend to stick to family-friendly fare like Catan or Ticket to Ride. When I saw "Exit: The Game – The House of Riddles," an escape room style game, I was intrigued. I've never done a live escape room, so I figured this was a great way to dip my toes into the experience without the cost or commitment.
The game is marketed as a beginner-level escape room game, but I found it surprisingly challenging. My wife and I spent almost two hours on our first attempt, and we only managed to solve a few of the puzzles. I'm not sure if we're just not good at logic puzzles, but we definitely found the experience frustrating.
That being said, the puzzles were well-designed, and we did have a few "aha!" moments that made us feel clever. We also found the game components to be well-made and the instructions clear and easy to understand. Even though we didn't finish the game, we had a lot of fun trying.
The game is intended for 1-4 players, but I think 2-3 players is the ideal number. There isn't enough to keep 4 players occupied. I could see this being a fun date night activity or a great game to play with a small group of friends. I'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoys logic puzzles and wants to try something a little different. Just be warned - it's not easy!
