Exit: The Game – The Forbidden Castle review

I recently picked up "Exit: The Game – The Forbidden Castle" and I have to say, it was a really fun experience. The whole escape room-in-a-box concept is something I've been wanting to try for a while, and this game definitely delivered.

The setup was pretty straightforward. The instructions are very clear and don't spoil anything, which is great. The components are well-made and it feels like a quality product. It was easy to get started and we were immediately immersed in the story.

The puzzles themselves were challenging but fair. There were a few moments where I felt really stumped, but the hints provided were helpful without giving too much away. It was a good balance of difficulty and satisfaction. The game really makes you think outside the box and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the solutions.

I played this game with my partner and we had a great time brainstorming together. The game is designed for 1-4 players, and I think 2-3 is the ideal range. There's enough to keep everyone engaged without feeling like someone's not doing anything.

One thing to note is that this is a one-time use game. You'll be cutting, folding, and writing on the components as part of the game. This might be a dealbreaker for some, but I personally didn't mind it. The cost is pretty reasonable, especially when you consider the amount of entertainment you get. It's definitely a good alternative to an actual escape room.

Overall, I would highly recommend "Exit: The Game – The Forbidden Castle" to anyone who enjoys puzzle games, escape rooms, or just a good mental challenge. It's a clever and engaging game that's sure to provide hours of fun. I'm definitely going to be picking up some more Exit games in the future.
