Exit: The Game – The Sunken Treasure
Exit: The Game – The Sunken Treasure review
I recently picked up "Exit: The Game – The Sunken Treasure" as my first foray into the world of tabletop escape room games. I was intrigued by the concept of a game modeled after escape rooms, and the beginner difficulty level made it seem like a good starting point.
Right out of the box, I was impressed by the quality of the components. The instructions were clear and concise, guiding players through setup without accidentally revealing any spoilers. The game itself is very well constructed and includes a variety of interesting materials, such as cards, a decoder wheel, and a book.
The puzzles in this game were definitely challenging! My wife and I found ourselves struggling to solve some of the riddles, and we even had to use a few clues along the way. While it took us longer than the suggested 60-90 minutes to complete the game, we still had a lot of fun brainstorming solutions together. We experienced several "aha!" moments, only to realize that we were still on the wrong track. It was a truly engaging and thought-provoking experience.
One thing I found interesting about the game was that it felt very personal. The story and puzzles were well-integrated, and it felt like we were actually involved in the adventure. I also appreciate that the game provides a scoring system that allows you to track your progress and compare your performance to other players.
While "The Sunken Treasure" is a one-time use game, I don't see this as a drawback. The cost is very reasonable, especially compared to a live escape room experience. I think it's a great way to enjoy an escape room-style adventure from the comfort of your own home.
Overall, I would highly recommend "Exit: The Game – The Sunken Treasure" to anyone who enjoys logic puzzles, creative problem-solving, and a good mental challenge. It's a fun and engaging experience that I'm sure I'll be playing again with my family and friends.
