Ticket to Ride: London
Ticket to Ride: London review
Ticket to Ride: London is a delightful and surprisingly engaging game that brings the familiar Ticket to Ride experience to a smaller, faster-paced setting. I've always enjoyed the Ticket to Ride series, but sometimes the longer playtime can be a bit daunting, especially with a busy schedule. This game is perfect for those occasions when you're looking for a quick and satisfying gaming session.
The game board is a scaled-down map of 1970s London, and instead of trains, you're collecting and deploying double-decker buses. The game is surprisingly strategic, even with its compact size. You have to balance collecting cards, claiming routes, and fulfilling destination tickets, all while keeping an eye on your opponents' moves. The addition of districts adds another layer of strategy, rewarding players who connect multiple locations with their buses.
One of the best things about Ticket to Ride: London is its play time. It's incredibly quick, typically finishing in 15 minutes or less. This makes it perfect for a casual game with friends or family, or for a quick filler game between longer sessions.
While I do appreciate the compact size of the game, I have to admit that I missed the sprawling maps of the larger Ticket to Ride games. The London board, while charming, feels a little bit cramped, especially with a full four players.
Overall, I highly recommend Ticket to Ride: London for fans of the series who are looking for a faster-paced experience. It's a fantastic game that's easy to learn, quick to play, and surprisingly strategic. If you're looking for a quick and satisfying gaming experience, you won't be disappointed with this one.
