Stone Age review

I recently picked up Stone Age and I'm really enjoying it! It's a worker placement game, which I've been getting more into lately, and it's a good middle ground between simpler games like Ticket to Ride and heavier ones like Agricola. The core gameplay is straightforward: you place your workers on different parts of the board to collect resources, build structures, and grow your population. What makes it interesting is the balance between luck and strategy.

The dice rolls for resource gathering add a layer of randomness, making for some exciting moments when you get lucky or, conversely, when your workers come home empty-handed. But the strategy comes in planning your moves, managing your resources, and making tough decisions about where to invest your workers. You have to think ahead and anticipate what your opponents might do, which can lead to some satisfying outplays.

I like how it encourages different strategies. Some players might focus on building up their agriculture, while others might prioritize technology or expanding their population. This variety makes each game feel different, and it's fun to see how different players approach the challenges presented by the game.

The game also has a great sense of progression as your civilization grows. It's really gratifying to see your village expand, your technology improve, and your tribe become more powerful.

Overall, Stone Age is a great game for anyone looking for a fun and engaging worker placement experience. It's easy enough to learn for newcomers to the genre, but also has enough depth to keep experienced gamers entertained. I highly recommend it!
