Lost Cities review

Lost Cities is a game that I've been meaning to try for a while now, and I finally got around to it! It's a two-player card game with a simple premise: you're trying to build up expeditions by playing cards in ascending order. The catch is that each expedition costs a certain amount of points to start, so you need to play enough cards to make a profit. There's also a risk/reward element in the form of "handshake" cards that can double, triple, or even quadruple your score for an expedition.

The game is really quick to learn, but it definitely has some strategic depth. You need to decide which expeditions to focus on, what cards to discard, and how to best use your handshakes. There's a good balance of luck and skill involved, which makes it exciting and replayable.

I really enjoyed playing Lost Cities with my husband. It's a great game for couples because it's quick, easy to learn, and fun to play. We've found ourselves playing multiple rounds in a row because it's so addictive! I also like that it's portable and can be played without the board, which makes it perfect for taking on trips.

One thing I would say is that the scoring can be a little tedious, especially at the end of the game. It's a lot of adding, subtracting, and multiplying. But honestly, that's a small nitpick considering how much fun the game is overall.

If you're looking for a fun, quick two-player game that's easy to learn and offers a good bit of strategy, I highly recommend Lost Cities! It's a classic for a reason.
