7 Wonders
7 Wonders review
7 Wonders (Second Edition) is a game I've been meaning to try for a while, and I'm so glad I finally did! It's lived up to all the hype and I can see why it's won so many awards.
The game itself is pretty straightforward, even though it looks complicated at first. You build your city by drafting cards, and the choices are varied and have real impact on your strategy. The three ages add tension and escalate the importance of your decisions. I found it really engaging to be constantly thinking ahead and adjusting my plans based on what my opponents were doing.
I particularly loved the quick pace of the game. It's simultaneous play, which means everyone is doing something at the same time, and it's really engaging because you're always involved. The gameplay feels intuitive once you get the hang of it, and the scoring is less complicated than some other games of its type. My family had a blast playing, and we even got through a few games in one evening.
The new edition features updated graphics on the cards, which makes them even more user-friendly. I'm a visual learner, so I really appreciated that. The components are high quality, and the artwork is really beautiful. It truly immerses you in the world of ancient civilizations.
Overall, I highly recommend 7 Wonders (Second Edition) to anyone looking for a great game to play with friends or family. It's fun, engaging, and strategic, with a great balance of luck and skill. Get ready to build some awesome cities!
