Zooloretto
Zooloretto review
Zooloretto is a fun and engaging game that has become a staple in our family game nights. We love strategy games, especially European-style games, and Zooloretto definitely fits the bill. It took us a couple of games to grasp the nuances of gameplay, but once we did, we were hooked. We've been playing it at least three times a week for months, and it's always a blast.
The core concept of Zooloretto is simple: you're building a zoo and trying to attract as many visitors as possible. The trick is that you need to carefully plan your zoo because you can easily end up with too many animals and not enough space. This is where the strategy comes in. You need to try to guess what other players are trying to do and try to give them animals they don't want while keeping the animals you want for yourself. It's a bit of a puzzle, and we find it very satisfying to figure out how to build the most successful zoo.
We particularly enjoy playing with three people, as the game has a great flow and allows for more interaction. However, the two-player variant feels a bit lacking. The game can be played with up to five people, so it's a great option for larger groups.
We highly recommend purchasing the expansion that includes the petting zoo, restaurant, and polar bear tiles. It adds a whole new level of depth and complexity to the game, and we haven't played without it since getting it.
Overall, Zooloretto is a fantastic game for families and groups of friends who enjoy strategy games with a fun and engaging theme. It's quick to learn, easy to teach, and provides plenty of replay value. If you're looking for a game that can be enjoyed by both casual and hardcore gamers, Zooloretto is a great option.
