Star Wars: Destiny
Star Wars: Destiny review
I've been wanting to get into Star Wars: Destiny for a while now, and I finally picked up the Rey and Kylo Ren starter sets. I have to say, I'm really impressed with the game. It's surprisingly deep and strategic, and it's a lot of fun to play. The dice-driven combat is really unique, and the card game aspect adds another layer of complexity and strategy. I especially like how the cards have amazing artwork.
I do have a few minor complaints, however. The starter sets only come with 20-card decks, which means you can't play in competitive tournaments. You also need both starter sets to even play a basic game, which means a $30 investment upfront. And the game can get really expensive to get into if you want to collect all the cards and dice. But if you're okay with just playing with the starter sets, you'll definitely get your money's worth.
The game itself is really easy to learn, but it can take a bit to master. The rule set is straightforward, and the cards are pretty intuitive. But there are so many possible combinations of cards and dice that there's a lot of depth to the game. You're going to want to do your research and plan out your strategy before you start playing. I would recommend watching some of the FFG video tutorials on YouTube to get a better understanding of the game. They also have some complete games that you can watch.
If you're a fan of Star Wars and you're looking for a fun and strategic card game, I definitely recommend checking out Star Wars: Destiny. Just be prepared to spend some money if you want to get into the game competitively. I'm definitely planning on buying some booster packs in the future, but I'm going to try to be patient and not get too caught up in collecting everything.
