King of New York review

King of New York is a fun and exciting game that builds on the foundation of its predecessor, King of Tokyo. It's a dice-rolling game where you play as a giant monster trying to conquer New York City. You roll dice to attack other monsters, heal yourself, and purchase power cards that give you unique abilities.

The game board is bigger than in King of Tokyo, and you can now move your monster around the different boroughs of New York City. This adds a new layer of strategy, as you have to decide whether to stay in Manhattan (where you get more points) or move to another borough to avoid being attacked. You can also destroy buildings to gain points, but this will also trigger the military response.

I really enjoy the new dice faces, especially "Celebrity" and "Ouch!" They add a lot of excitement and change up the gameplay. I also think the new "Destruction" mechanic is well-balanced and adds another strategic dimension to the game.

I've played King of New York with both new and experienced players, and everyone seems to enjoy it. It's a great game for families and friends, and it's always a lot of fun. The game is slightly more complex than King of Tokyo, but it's still easy to learn and play.

If you're a fan of King of Tokyo, then you should definitely check out King of New York. It's a worthy successor and an enjoyable game in its own right.
