Rivet Wars: Eastern Front
Rivet Wars: Eastern Front review
Rivet Wars: Eastern Front is a miniatures board game that I've been wanting to try for a while now. It's a unique blend of dieselpunk and World War I, with a colorful and quirky style that really caught my eye. The miniatures are absolutely stunning, and I've been itching to get some paint on them. The gameplay is surprisingly simple to learn, with a focus on strategic deployment and unit management, which really appeals to my love for RTS games like Rise of Nations.
I've played a few games now, and I have to say, it's a ton of fun. The combat is fast-paced and exciting, with lots of opportunities for tactical maneuvering. I love the way the game forces you to think about your deployments and unit choices. I'm also really impressed with the quality of the components. The miniatures are incredibly detailed, and the cardboard tiles are sturdy and well-made. The game comes with a variety of scenarios, so there's a lot of replayability.
One thing I have to say is that the base game might feel a little thin if you don't get the expansions. They add a lot of depth and variety to the game, and they're definitely worth picking up if you enjoy the base game. However, I can say that this is a really fun game. The minis are beautiful, the gameplay is engaging and the game itself is a well-rounded experience.
