SeaFall
SeaFall review
SeaFall is a game that I've been wanting to try for a while now. I've heard mixed reviews, but I'm a sucker for legacy games, and the theme of seafaring exploration really appealed to me. I finally got my hands on a copy, and I'm glad I did.
The game is definitely complex, and the rulebook can be a bit confusing at times. I recommend watching a couple of videos on how to play before diving in, or at least checking out the Captain's Log FAQ online. But once you get the hang of it, the game is incredibly engaging. You're constantly making decisions that affect the game's future, and it's always exciting to see what new rules and mechanics are unlocked as you progress. The legacy system in SeaFall is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy the feeling of building up my empire over multiple games.
That being said, SeaFall is not for everyone. It's a long, involved game that requires a dedicated group of players. If you're looking for a quick and easy game, this is not it. And while the legacy system is a huge draw for me, it does mean that the game is only meant to be played once. You're going to have to destroy some of the components as you play, which can be a bit jarring for some people.
Overall, I think SeaFall is a great game for those who are looking for a challenging, engaging, and thematic experience. If you're a fan of legacy games and you enjoy the idea of seafaring exploration, I highly recommend checking it out. Just be prepared for a long and complicated journey.
