The Others
The Others review
The Others is a game that really draws you in. It's set in a world on the brink of apocalypse where the 7 Deadly Sins have been summoned by the Hell Club. You play as members of F.A.I.T.H., a paranormal organization fighting to save the city of Haven from being consumed by darkness.
I really enjoy the asymmetrical gameplay. The Sin player is pitted against a team of heroes, each with their own unique skills and abilities. The heroes need to cooperate to survive the Sin's attacks and complete their missions, while the Sin tries to thwart their every move.
The game has a lot of depth, with different classes of heroes, a corruption mechanic, and a variety of Sin-specific abilities. It really keeps you on your toes as you try to manage your resources, avoid getting corrupted, and defeat the Sins' minions.
I also love the minis. They're gorgeous and really add to the atmosphere of the game. The quality of the components is excellent, and the game comes with everything you need to get started.
It's not a perfect game, though. The game can be a bit one-sided, with the Sin player often having the upper hand. I've found that the game is much more balanced if the Sin player isn't too experienced, but it can be a real struggle for the heroes otherwise. The game also has a lot of rules, which can be a bit overwhelming at first, though once you get the hang of them it's not too bad.
Overall, I really enjoy playing The Others. It's a fun and engaging game with a unique theme, great components, and a good amount of replayability. I definitely recommend it to fans of cooperative board games with a dark, apocalyptic theme.
