Arcadia Quest: Inferno review

Arcadia Quest: Inferno is a standalone expansion for the popular board game Arcadia Quest. It introduces four new Guilds (Sharks, Tigers, Crows, and Serpents) and features new hero types like Alchemists and Gladiators. This expansion also introduces a branching campaign system, with a storyline that focuses on the Guilds descending into a fiery abyss.

I've been a fan of Arcadia Quest for a while now, and this expansion is a welcome addition. The new Guilds are all unique and interesting, and the new hero types provide some much-needed variety. The branching campaign system is also a great addition, and it adds a lot of replayability to the game.

The game's mechanics are a bit complex, and it can take a while to learn the rules, but once you get the hang of it, it's very satisfying. The new "Damnation" mechanism is particularly interesting, as it adds a new layer of strategy and complexity to the game. The game also features Angels, which are allied characters that can be rescued, escorted, or assisted. These Angels can affect the branching campaign path system and even allow the player to recruit them for use in later missions.

One thing I particularly enjoy is the quality of the components, especially the miniatures. They're all very detailed and well-painted. The game is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth the investment, especially if you're a fan of miniatures-heavy board games.

Overall, Arcadia Quest: Inferno is a great expansion for Arcadia Quest fans. It adds a ton of new content and mechanics that will keep you entertained for hours on end. If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding board game with a unique theme, I highly recommend checking out Arcadia Quest: Inferno.
