The World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service
The World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service review
I've been wanting to try a steampunk-themed board game for a while now, and The World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service definitely caught my eye. The game is visually stunning with its beautiful artwork and miniatures, and the concept of navigating a rotating board while trading Ethers and Artefacts to fulfill Queen Victoria's quest sounded intriguing. I was also drawn to the element of competition with the Agents of the Shadow Master.
I've played the game a few times now, and I can say that it lives up to the hype! It's a really fun and engaging game with a good balance of strategy and luck. The rotating tiles create a dynamic and unpredictable game board, and the constant trading and resource management keep you on your toes. The agents are a great addition, adding a layer of complexity and interaction to the game.
However, I do have to say that the learning curve is a bit steep. It took me a few rounds to really understand the rules and mechanics of the game. But once I got the hang of it, I found it very rewarding. I also agree with some reviewers that the game can be a bit fast-paced once you understand it. But, I still find it very fun and exciting.
Overall, I would definitely recommend The World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service to any fan of steampunk or strategic board games. It's a beautifully crafted game with a unique gameplay experience.
