One Deck Dungeon: Forest of Shadows
One Deck Dungeon: Forest of Shadows review
I've been a fan of the original One Deck Dungeon for a while now, and I was really excited to try out Forest of Shadows. It's a standalone expansion, but it also works as a way to add more content to the original game. The new heroes, dungeons, and perils are all a lot of fun, and the poison mechanic adds a whole new level of complexity. I especially like how the expansion can be played on its own or combined with the original game for a hybrid dungeon experience.
I did find the rules a bit confusing at first, but once I got the hang of them, I really enjoyed the game. It's definitely more challenging than the original One Deck Dungeon, but I like that. It feels like a real challenge to survive the dungeon, and when you do win, it's really satisfying. The artwork is great, and I love the characters. The game is also a lot of fun to play solo, which is great for me because I don't always have someone to play with. Overall, I would definitely recommend One Deck Dungeon: Forest of Shadows to anyone who enjoys the original game or is looking for a challenging and engaging solo dungeon crawler.
One thing I will say is that the game can be a bit overwhelming for new players. The rules can be a bit complex, and there's a lot to keep track of. However, if you're willing to put in the time to learn the rules, you'll be rewarded with a really fun and challenging game.
Overall, One Deck Dungeon: Forest of Shadows is a great expansion that adds a lot of new content and replayability to the original game. I highly recommend it to fans of the original game or anyone looking for a challenging and engaging solo dungeon crawler.
