Set a Watch
Set a Watch review
I've been wanting to try Set a Watch for ages, and I finally got my hands on a copy. This game is a cooperative adventure where you play as four adventurers who must work together to defeat hordes of monsters and prevent the resurrection of a powerful evil. I really enjoy the cooperative element. It's so much fun to strategize with your fellow adventurers and decide who's going to attack in what way.
The game play is simple enough to teach non-gamers, but it's still challenging and engaging. I love that the game has a "camp" phase and a "watch" phase. The camp phase is where you plan your strategy and choose which adventurers to use. The watch phase is where you actually battle the monsters. The dice and card mechanics are pretty intuitive and provide a good amount of tension and strategy. It's definitely a game where you'll need to use your wits and skill to survive!
I've played it both solo and with my wife, and we both really enjoy it. I actually think it's a great game for both solo players and groups. The setup and tear-down are quick, and the game itself isn't too long. If you're looking for a fun, challenging, and engaging cooperative board game, I highly recommend Set a Watch.
