Skytear review

Skytear: A MOBA Experience on the Tabletop

I've always been a fan of MOBAs, and I was excited to see a board game that captured the spirit of those games. Skytear certainly delivers on that front, offering a fast-paced and strategic experience that's perfect for groups of friends.

The game's draft system is brilliant. You get to choose your heroes from four different factions, and each hero comes with a set of unique power cards. This means you can build a deck that's tailored to your playstyle and your opponent's choices. I love how the game's mechanics encourage you to think ahead and predict what your opponent is going to do.

The game's focus on strategic card play, rather than dice rolls, adds another layer of depth. You have to carefully consider which cards to play and when, factoring in both their positive and negative modifiers. It's a fun challenge to balance attack power with defense and try to outmaneuver your opponent.

The miniatures are also a highlight. They're beautifully detailed and made of high-quality plastic. I'm definitely going to paint mine up to look even better.

However, I have to admit, the game does have one minor drawback. I found the rulebook a bit confusing at first. It's not overly complex, but it could benefit from a few more examples. That said, once you understand the rules, the game plays smoothly and quickly.

Overall, Skytear is a fantastic board game that I highly recommend to any MOBA fans or players looking for a strategic and engaging experience. It's a perfect game for groups of friends, and it's sure to provide many hours of fun. Just make sure you read through the rulebook carefully before you dive in!
