Kemet: Blood and Sand review

I recently had the pleasure of diving into the world of Kemet: Blood and Sand, and let me tell you, it was an epic journey. This revised edition truly feels like a rebirth, with a more realistic and brutal take on Ancient Egypt.

The gameplay feels tighter than the original Kemet, with deeper strategy and a quicker pace. I especially appreciate the new, approachable rules, which make the game more accessible without sacrificing the complexity that makes it so engaging. The new art is stunning, and the bigger, more detailed figurines are a real treat. The redesigned map with its twist adds a fresh element to the game, and the power tiles are incredibly fun to collect and use.

I've been playing a lot of Dune Imperium lately, and I have to say that Kemet: Blood and Sand has a similar feel. Both games offer deep strategy, engaging themes, and a healthy dose of tactical decision-making. However, Kemet really stands out with its gorgeous miniatures and its unique focus on the gods and their influence on the battlefields.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the game, there were a couple of minor hiccups. I received my copy with only three player guides instead of five. Also, the box itself arrived slightly damaged. Fortunately, these were minor issues that didn't detract from the overall experience.

If you're a fan of strategic board games with a strong theme and stunning visuals, Kemet: Blood and Sand is definitely worth checking out. It's a truly immersive experience that will have you battling for control of Ancient Egypt with the gods themselves at your side.
