Pyramido
Pyramido review
Pyramido is a tile-placement game with an Egyptian theme that's easy to learn, quick to play, and surprisingly engaging. I was initially drawn to the colorful tiles and beautifully carved wooden scoring markers. The game itself is fairly simple, you're essentially building a pyramid by strategically placing domino-like tiles, trying to create connected areas of the same color to score points. What makes it more interesting is that the scoring areas extend across multiple levels of the pyramid, so you need to plan ahead and think about your placement carefully.
I played it with my family and we all had a good time, even my eight-year-old nephew who usually prefers video games. The game is certainly lighter than something like Kingdomino, but it's still fun and strategic. The components are well-made, and the box has a nice insert that keeps everything organized. I especially enjoyed the little wooden markers, they're just a nice touch.
I wouldn't say this is a game for hardcore gamers, but it's definitely a good option for a quick, fun game night with family or friends. It's the kind of game you can easily pull out, play a few rounds, and put away without a lot of fuss. I'd say it's worth checking out if you're looking for a simple, but enjoyable, tile-laying game.
