The Few and Cursed review

The Few and Cursed is a deck-building adventure game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where water is the most valuable currency and survival is a constant struggle. Players take on the role of Curse Chasers, bounty hunters who traverse the wasteland searching for supernatural artifacts, completing jobs, and fighting monsters. It's a captivating theme that immediately drew me in.

The game itself is engaging and offers a unique blend of deck-building, area movement, and combat. I particularly enjoyed the curse mechanic, which allows players to gain powerful boosts at the risk of losing health. The card selection system, where you choose one of two new cards each turn, adds an interesting layer of strategy and resource management.

While the game is a lot of fun, the rulebook could have been more clear in some areas. It requires a bit of jumping around to fully understand the flow of the round. However, once I got the hang of it, the gameplay was smooth and enjoyable. I've played both solo and cooperatively, and both experiences were great. The solo mode offers a challenging experience, and the cooperative mode provides a fun and engaging experience for two players.

The production quality of the game is excellent, with fantastic artwork and a well-designed board. The components are sturdy, and the inclusion of miniatures for the monsters adds a nice touch. The box, however, could use a better storage system.

Overall, The Few and Cursed is a great game that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys deck-building games with a strong theme and exciting gameplay. It's a bit on the heavier side, but the depth and replayability make it a worthwhile addition to any collection.
