Endangered review

Endangered is a cooperative game that puts players in the role of conservationists working to save endangered species from extinction. You and your fellow players will take on roles like Zoologist, Philanthropist, or TV Wildlife Host, each with unique abilities. The game involves managing resources, making strategic decisions, and collaborating to achieve a common goal: to save the animals from extinction.

The game is modular, meaning you can choose from different animal modules (tigers, sea otters, etc.), each with its own unique rules and challenges. The goal of each module is to save your chosen animal by meeting certain conditions while also influencing UN ambassadors to vote in favor of protecting the species. The game features a variety of mechanics, including dice rolling, action card selection, and a strategic "offspring" phase where you try to increase the population of your chosen animal. There is a chance of losing if the animal population drops too low, or if you run out of resources to protect the animals from destruction.

I really enjoyed the collaborative aspect of the game. It's a great way to get people working together towards a common goal, and it's particularly rewarding when you manage to pull off a win. The game also has a lot of replayability, thanks to the different animal modules and the random element of the UN ambassadors and impact cards. The artwork is beautiful and adds to the immersive experience. If you are a fan of cooperative games with a focus on environmental themes, I highly recommend giving Endangered a try.
