Waterfall Park
Waterfall Park review
Waterfall Park is a fun and quick-playing game that reminded me a lot of Chinatown, but with some welcome improvements. The vertical tower theme is charming and the game is surprisingly engaging even with its streamlined mechanics.
The game play is fast and easy to pick up, making it a great choice for family game night. The bidding system is really fun and encourages some great back-and-forth interactions. There are definitely moments where you'll need to negotiate to get the exact attraction you want, but it's a lot less cutthroat than Chinatown.
The game is also significantly shorter than Chinatown, clocking in at about 20 minutes. This makes it a great choice for a quick gaming session.
One minor complaint I have is that the attraction tiles no longer have the name of the attraction on them. This isn't a huge deal, but I did find myself having to look at the rulebook a few times to remember what certain attractions were. Overall, though, this is a fun and engaging game that I would definitely recommend.
As a side note, I did see a few comments about damaged packaging and broken pieces. I was lucky and received a perfect copy, but it's definitely something to keep in mind when ordering.
