The White Castle review

The White Castle is a game that packs a lot of punch into a small package. It's a Euro-style game with mechanics of resource management, worker placement, and dice placement. The game is set in the beautiful Himeji Castle in Japan, and players take on the role of one of the clans vying for influence in the court.

I've now played this game five times and everyone who has played it has given it a big "thumbs up!" It's immensely replayable and there is a lot of satisfaction in playing a combination of actions that give you a big reward. The production quality is superb, and as an added bonus, the box is very small, so it leaves me room for more games on my shelves!

What really sets this game apart is its strategic depth. Despite its simple rules, The White Castle offers a lot of choices and challenges for players. You have to carefully manage your resources, place your workers wisely, and plan your moves ahead of time. The game also has a solo mode, which is a great way to learn the game or play when you don't have anyone else to play with.

The only downside is that setup and take down can be a bit of a pain. There are a lot of little components and pieces, which can make it a bit time-consuming to get the game set up and put away. But, the game is so much fun that it's worth the effort.

Overall, The White Castle is a fantastic game that I highly recommend. It's well-designed, has a lot of replayability, and is great for both solo and multiplayer play. If you're looking for a strategic game that you can play with a variety of people, then this is the game for you.
