Queenz: To Bee or Not to Bee review

Queenz: To Bee or Not to Bee is a simple but surprisingly engaging game from Bruno Cathala. The premise is straightforward: you're beekeepers trying to attract bees and produce the most valuable honey. The game is played by taking flower tokens from the garden and placing them in your warehouse, then blooming fields to score points.

I really enjoyed the core gameplay loop. The choices you make, whether to grab more flowers or bloom a field, felt meaningful and the scoring system is clear and rewarding. There's a satisfying sense of progress as you build your fields and collect honey.

However, I have to echo the sentiment from other reviewers. The component quality is unfortunately underwhelming. The game boards feel flimsy and I'm worried about their longevity. This is a shame because the game itself is fun and deserves better quality components.

Despite this drawback, I still recommend Queenz: To Bee or Not to Bee. It's a great family game that is easy to learn and quick to play. Just be prepared to handle the components with care.
