Namiji
Namiji review
Namiji is a beautiful and engaging board game that I've been enjoying immensely. It's definitely a fun game for both families and adults, offering a simple yet strategic gameplay experience. The game's theme revolves around fishing in the Japan of yesteryear, and it's wonderfully presented with vibrant artwork and high-quality components. The game play is similar to Tokaido, but with a few interesting twists that make it feel fresh and engaging.
I was particularly impressed by the fishing mechanic. It adds an element of luck to the game, but it's not overwhelming, and it actually contributes to the strategic aspect of the game. You have to plan your moves carefully to land in certain spots on the board and try to outmaneuver your opponents, which is quite exciting.
Although I do enjoy the game, it's not perfect. I find that the game can be a bit too lucky at times, especially for players who aren't used to games with a strong element of chance. However, it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment, and I still find it a very fun and rewarding experience.
If you're a fan of Tokaido or looking for a quick and fun game to play with friends and family, I would highly recommend Namiji.
