Flatline
Flatline review
Flatline is a cooperative dice game set in the Fuse universe, and it’s a real adrenaline rush. You and your fellow players are tasked with treating patients after a disaster, all while racing against a one-minute timer. I usually shy away from real-time games, but the one-minute bursts of action in Flatline make it much more manageable. You get a minute to plan, then a minute to frantically roll and place your dice to try and save as many patients as possible.
I really like the way the game builds tension. You’re constantly juggling multiple priorities – trying to treat patients, manage emergencies, and keep your power levels up. The constant pressure makes for some exciting moments, and you really feel the weight of your decisions. It’s not easy to win, but when you do, it feels incredibly satisfying. The fact that you can play with up to five players makes for a very lively and chaotic experience. I’ve had some great laughs playing this game with friends.
The components are excellent. The dice are beautifully crafted, and I love the spinning dial that helps track your progress. The game is also beautifully illustrated, with a distinct sci-fi vibe. The app is a nice addition, providing a timer and some helpful rules references. I wouldn’t say it’s essential for playing, but it’s a nice bonus.
If you’re looking for a cooperative game that’s fast-paced, exciting, and requires a lot of strategy, then Flatline is definitely worth checking out. It’s a great game for anyone who enjoys a good challenge and a dose of adrenaline.
