New York Slice
New York Slice review
New York Slice is a fun and easy-to-learn game that's perfect for family game night. The theme is adorable, with the box resembling a pizza box, the rules looking like a menu, and the score pad like a guest check. It's so clever, and my 7 year old even enjoys playing it!
The gameplay is simple: players take turns slicing a pizza into portions, then choose which portion to take. There are different types of pizza slices, each worth a certain number of points if you collect the majority of that type. You can also eat pepperoni slices for points, but then you don't count that slice toward your collection. There are also "anchovies" which are worth negative points, so you have to be careful! It's a fun mix of strategy and luck.
The "Daily Specials" add a fun element of randomness, changing the game every time you play. I appreciate that the game comes with thick cardboard pieces, making it durable and long-lasting. My only complaint is that it can be a bit difficult to put away all the slices back in the box, but it's not a major issue. Overall, I highly recommend this game for families and casual gamers.
