Evenfall
Evenfall review
Evenfall is a game that surprised me in a very positive way. I was drawn in by the gorgeous art, which truly is stunning and worth taking a moment to appreciate. But it’s not just a pretty face. The gameplay is surprisingly deep and engaging for a game that’s relatively quick to learn.
I particularly enjoyed the resource management aspect. It's tight but not frustrating, and there’s a satisfying feeling to optimizing your actions and building a powerful engine. The card combos are fun to discover, and the engine-building aspect provides a nice sense of progression over the game's three rounds.
I was also impressed by the solo mode. It’s a streamlined experience that’s easy to learn and surprisingly satisfying. I’ve found it to be a great option for those nights when I don’t have anyone to play with.
Evenfall isn’t for everyone. It does have a few complex elements that could prove difficult to explain and might frustrate some players. However, if you enjoy strategic, engine-building games with a bit of a puzzle element, you’ll definitely want to check this one out. My gaming group, who enjoys medium to medium-heavy strategy games, absolutely loved it!
