Come Together
Come Together review
Come Together is a worker placement game that throws you right into the heart of the 1960s music festival scene. You'll be recruiting volunteers, attracting audiences, and vying for the hottest artists to make your festival the biggest and best. The game's unique twist lies in its delayed card claim mechanic. You don't get the card you place a worker on immediately; you have to wait until someone activates that location. This adds a layer of strategy and timing to the game as you have to decide when to claim the card you want and when to activate a location to potentially snag cards other players have been eyeing.
I was initially hesitant about the theme, as I'm not a huge fan of the 60s or music festivals, but after one playthrough I was hooked. The game is very clever and has a lot of depth. The artwork is gorgeous and really captures the vibe of the era.
The game's rules can be a bit overwhelming at first. It takes a couple of games to fully understand all the nuances of the game. However, once you get the hang of it, the game is very rewarding. The player boards are really well-designed, and the special powers they offer add another layer of strategy to the game. I also really enjoy the different ways you can score points in the game. There's a lot of variety and replayability.
Come Together is a great game for those looking for a fun, strategic, and thematic worker placement experience. It's a great game for 3-6 players, and it's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of worker placement games. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for a challenging game with a unique twist, Come Together is definitely worth a try.
