Corrosion
Corrosion review
Corrosion is a fascinating engine-building game that had me hooked from the first turn. The core mechanic of managing your factory's corrosion is clever and keeps the pressure on throughout the game. You're constantly balancing the need to build up your production and scoring engines with the ever-present threat of rusting machines.
I really enjoyed the strategic decision-making involved in playing engineers. The choice of whether to play an engineer card for immediate gains or turn the corrosion wheel to get your machines working is always a tough one. The ability for other players to copy your engineer actions adds a layer of tension and tactical maneuvering.
The artwork in Corrosion is also quite nice, adding to the steampunk atmosphere. While the game is definitely complex, it's also quite accessible, especially with the clear rulebook and streamlined gameplay. It's a great choice for experienced gamers looking for a strategic challenge, as well as for those new to engine-building games who want to dive into a deeper experience.
I highly recommend Corrosion to anyone looking for a fun and engaging game with a unique twist. It's a game that will stay on your table for a long time!
