Zapotec
Zapotec review
Zapotec is a beautifully designed game that truly captures the essence of the ancient Zapotec civilization. I was particularly impressed by the artwork, which brings to life the vibrant colors and intricate details of their culture. The game itself is engaging and strategic, with a satisfying balance of resource management, building, and scoring. It's easy to learn but has enough depth to provide replayability.
I particularly enjoyed the card drafting system, which adds a layer of tension and uncertainty to each round. The resource collection and building mechanics are simple but effective, and the different actions available to players provide a variety of strategic choices. The scoring system is also well-designed, rewarding players for a variety of achievements.
While I found Zapotec to be a lot of fun, I did notice that it can get a little bit crowded on the board towards the end of the game. This is just a minor quibble, however, and doesn't detract from the overall experience. If you're looking for a thematic and engaging game that provides a satisfying challenge, I highly recommend Zapotec.
