Too Many Bones: Undertow
Too Many Bones: Undertow review
Too Many Bones: Undertow is a fantastic expansion for fans of the original game. It adds a whole new campaign to the mix, with a focus on the Sibron River. The new Gearloc characters, Stanza and Duster, are a welcome addition, and the new baddies, encounters, and tyrants keep things fresh. The double-sided battle mat is a nice touch, and the battles on the raft add a new layer of strategy to the game.
I really enjoyed the new campaign mode, but I can understand why some players might find it a bit too long. The campaign does add a lot of replayability, though, as you can choose different paths and make different choices. If you're just looking for some new encounters and a little more variability, the encounter cards are a great addition to the game. They are well-designed and add a lot of variety to the gameplay. The scar dice are also a fun addition.
The production quality of Undertow is top-notch, as expected from Chip Theory Games. The cards are thick and durable, and the components are all well-made. I especially love the neoprene battle mat. The only slight complaint I have is that the health chips are a little flimsy, but that's just a minor nitpick.
Overall, I highly recommend Too Many Bones: Undertow to anyone who loves the original game. It's a great way to add more replayability and variety to your games.
