Robin Hood and the Merry Men
Robin Hood and the Merry Men review
Robin Hood and the Merry Men is a fun, thematic board game that brings the classic tale to life. The game is set in Nottingham, 1100 A.D., during the time when Prince John is ruling in King Richard's absence. Players take on the roles of famous outlaws like Robin Hood, Little John, Will Scarlet, and Jane Fortune, working together to protect Nottingham from Prince John's tyranny.
The game is a blend of worker placement, hand management, set collection, and dice rolling, all wrapped up in a euro-style gameplay. The goal is to protect Nottingham by building barricades, acquiring resources, and laying traps to stop Prince John's army. The players who succeed in protecting the town and earn the most victory points are declared the winners.
I've had the opportunity to play the Deluxe Edition with a group of friends, and it was a great time. The game is particularly fun with four players, allowing everyone to get involved and have a chance to make a difference. The game's thematic elements, such as the various characters and their abilities, add a lot of depth and replayability. The game's artwork is also excellent, adding to the overall immersive experience.
If you're a fan of euro-style board games and the Robin Hood legend, I highly recommend checking out Robin Hood and the Merry Men. It's a fun, engaging game that offers a unique blend of mechanics and a rich thematic experience.
