Paper Tales
Paper Tales review
Paper Tales is a fast-paced, card drafting game that I really enjoy. The core concept is simple: you draft cards to build your kingdom, fight wars against your neighbors, and earn victory points. The catch is that your units "age" and die off after a few rounds, so you need to constantly adapt your strategy. This aging mechanic adds a unique twist that keeps things interesting and prevents any one strategy from dominating.
I love the art style - it's very colorful and eye-catching, with a unique, "cut-out" style that really sets it apart. The game itself is easy to learn but offers surprising depth, making it fun for both casual and experienced gamers. I particularly enjoyed the two-player experience, which is more strategic and competitive than the higher player counts.
Overall, I'd highly recommend Paper Tales to anyone looking for a quick, fun card drafting game with a unique twist. The only downside is that the game can be a little unforgiving if you make a mistake, and it doesn't offer much in the way of recovery. But if you're up for the challenge, Paper Tales is a fantastic choice.
