Juicy Fruits
Juicy Fruits review
Juicy Fruits is a delightful game that's easy to pick up but offers surprising depth. The concept is charming: you're growing delicious fruit on your own island paradise, fulfilling orders from ships, and claiming businesses to boost your profits. The core mechanic, moving your fruit collector tokens around your island, is simple but effective, requiring you to strategize your movements to maximize fruit collection and open up space for new businesses.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the components. The wooden fruit pieces are chunky and beautifully painted, and the cardboard tiles are thick and well-printed. The cloth bags for storing the components are a nice touch as well.
The game can be enjoyed by players of all ages, with enough strategic depth to keep experienced gamers entertained. My kids (ages 9 and 11) really enjoyed it, and I found it engaging as well. The game plays quickly, making it ideal for a casual gaming session. I haven't tried the "juice factory" mode yet, but I'm intrigued by the added complexity it promises.
One minor issue I encountered was the missing solo mode booklet. I was hoping to play solo, and I'm disappointed that I can't without searching for the instructions online. Hopefully, this is an isolated issue.
Overall, Juicy Fruits is a fun and engaging game that I highly recommend. It's a perfect choice for families looking for a quick and strategic game to play together.
