Century: Golem Edition – Eastern Mountains
Century: Golem Edition – Eastern Mountains review
I recently picked up Century: Golem Edition – Eastern Mountains, excited to delve back into the world of Carvania after enjoying the base game. This expansion, while reimplementing Century: Eastern Wonders with beautiful manga-inspired art, definitely brings its own quirks to the table.
The gameplay itself is familiar and engaging, and the new elements add a welcome layer of depth. It's still that easy-to-learn-but-medium-strategy game that the Century series is known for, perfect for casual gaming sessions with friends. However, I have to agree with some of the other reviewers about the manual. It's definitely not the most straightforward, and left me scratching my head a few times when trying to teach it to my friends. It's a bit of a shame, as the actual gameplay is intuitive once you get past the initial hurdle.
Despite the manual's hiccups, I've had a lot of fun with Century: Golem Edition – Eastern Mountains. It's a solid addition to the series, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the base game. Just be prepared to spend some extra time figuring things out before you can dive into the trading and crystal collecting action.
