Blackout: Hong Kong
Blackout: Hong Kong review
Blackout: Hong Kong is a mid-weight Eurogame from Alexander Pfister, the designer of Great Western Trail and Mombasa. I’ve enjoyed all three of these games, and Blackout is definitely worth checking out. It’s a game where you’re trying to restore order to Hong Kong after a city-wide blackout. You need to manage your resources and specialists carefully to keep the city from descending into chaos.
One of the things I really like about Blackout is that it’s a very replayable game. There are a lot of different ways to approach the game, and it’s always fun to try out new strategies. The game also has a really cool market system that encourages chain-building, but it’s not overly interactive. If you’re looking for a game that’s more of a puzzle than a party game, Blackout is definitely worth a look.
The rules can be a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of them, it’s a very smooth-playing game. I would say that this is not a game for people who are new to Eurogames. But if you’re a fan of the genre, then I highly recommend checking out Blackout: Hong Kong.
