Ascension Tactics: Miniatures Deckbuilding Game review

Ascension Tactics is a unique and engaging game that combines deck-building with a tactical miniatures feel. While it doesn't actually include miniatures, the cardboard standees are a nice touch and definitely add to the visual appeal. I personally don't mind the standees, but I can see how some people might be disappointed by the lack of miniatures, especially given the game's name.

The game play itself is a blast, with a good balance of strategy and quick rounds. It's a lot of fun to build your deck, deploy your champions, and outmaneuver your opponent on the board. I especially enjoyed the various scenarios and the campaign mode, which offer a lot of replayability. It's a game that's easy to learn but difficult to master, making it great for both casual and experienced gamers.

I have to admit, I was a little frustrated by the instruction booklet, which felt a bit confusing and poorly organized at times. It also made a few references to Kickstarter-exclusive content, which can be annoying for those who didn't back the original campaign. Thankfully, there are plenty of videos and online resources available to help clear things up.

Overall, I highly recommend Ascension Tactics to anyone who enjoys deck-building games with a tactical twist. It's a fun and engaging game with a ton of content, and even though it doesn't have actual miniatures, it's still a great value for the price.
