Age of Innovation
Age of Innovation review
Age of Innovation is a standalone game set in the world of Terra Mystica. I've always been a fan of Terra Mystica, and I was excited to try out this new standalone game. It features twelve factions, each with unique characteristics, and allows you to create new combinations of factions, homelands, and abilities for a truly unique gaming experience. I've found that it's really hard to have the same game twice, which is a huge plus for me.
You control one of these factions and will terraform the game map's terrain into your homelands where you can erect your buildings. This is where the game really shines - it's all about strategy and planning ahead, but it's not so complicated that it becomes overwhelming. In fact, I found it quite intuitive once I got the hang of it. There's a good balance between planning ahead and reacting to what your opponents are doing, which keeps things interesting.
The game is about more than just building and expanding. You can also upgrade your buildings to gain valuable resources and build schools to advance in different sciences. This adds another layer of depth to the game and gives you a lot of different options for how to play.
I've played Age of Innovation with a few different groups now, and everyone has really enjoyed it. It's great for both casual and hardcore gamers, and it's a game that you can easily play for hours without getting bored. If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding strategy game, Age of Innovation is a great choice.
